ICATS Overview

ICATS stands for the "Industrial Coatings Applicator Training Scheme".
The scheme was produced by Correx Ltd in conjunction with the Highways Agency and Network Rail as a response to the increased demands of industry. ICATS is a comprehensive structured training scheme for the registration, training and certification of industrial surface preparation and coating operatives.

The scheme has a mandatory basic unit "Industrial Coatings Applicator" that comprises of 6 modules - Health and Safety, Site Access, Plant and Equipment, Surface Preparation, Paint Types & Application and Quality Control.

The scheme complements other industrial skills sector schemes and is recognised by CSCS.
