NETWORK RAIL ICATS IMPLEMENTATION

Network Rail held a meeting for suppliers on 12th June in Birmingham where the following proposed timeline was outlined to the audience for ICATS implementation for the Rail industry.


SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2007


 •    Appreciation seminar for Network Rail’s supplier’s site managers
 

OCTOBER 2007 


•    Network Rail supplier companies nominated staff to be trained         and certified as Trainers (Basic Module)


 JUNE 2008


•    Industrial Coating Applicators trained and certificated to ICATS 
    Basic Module
 •    Relevant members of the Network Rail Senior Construction         Manager’s team competent to ICorr Inspector Level 1
 •    ICATS contract awareness seminar for relevant Network Rail         staff

 DECEMBER 2008


•    Industrial Coatings Applicators trained and certificated to ICATS     Specialist Modules


All the above is to be backed up by changes to standards (currently being reviewed) and with an anticipated publication April 2008, this is expected to require:

COMPLIANCE - 100% OPERATIVES EXCLUDING TRAINEES:


•    ICATS Basic Module - 7th June 2008

•    ICATS Specialist Modules - 6th December 2008
