Two of the 
proposed three ICATS specialist modules will be introduced in October 2007. The modules will be the following:

PAINT SPRAYING OPERATOR- 2 DAY COURSE
The module will cover:
a) Health and Safety
b) Paint materials
c) Airless spray equipment

ABRASIVE BLAST CLEANING OPERATOR - 3 DAY COURSE
The module will cover:
a) Health and Safety
b) Blast media
c) Standards and quality control
d) Operational procedures
e) Process control

The modules cover the two subjects in greater depth than the standard ICATS and will involve both theoretical and practical aspects of the subjects. Only candidates with the relevant industry experience can undertake modules. Specialist modules will be a requirement of both Network Rail and Highways Agency SS 19A, details of the dates are included in the newsletter.
